I have to agree with BigT here. McGowan has sick stuff is going to improve and right now rivals most third pitchers in baseball. He is pretty our second or third best starter going forward and our third best starter right now. Also I would like to add that it is nice to be back at .500 considering the injuries to BJ, Halladay, Burnett, Reed, Chacin, Glaus, Overbay, Zaun, Zambrano and the complete mismanagement of our bullpen for a stretch (Fraso/Marcum closing)

QFT. The Jays would be right up near the lead for the wild card (at least) if not for all the injuries. As it is, they're only 6 games back of Cleveland with tons of time to put a run together.

(Not that I'm willing to say the Jays have a legitimate shot at the WC. BJ out for the whole season is a giant loss).

And hey, somebody had to start this thread.

edit: and you can't really talk pete.

Oh and Glaus is hurt again. Nice.

[/ QUOTE ]
Glaus has played his entire career with nagging injuries. Now there's word the Jays are open to offers for him. At ~11m this year and 13m next, I'm not opposed to the idea.

Pudge, your take on the Jays' WC chances please.

I don't think the Jays have a great shot at the WC. Whoever doesn't win the Central (Tigers/Indians) will have a really good record. Probably 90+ and maybe 95+.

Also I really think Gibbons [censored] up the 12th. I probably would have pitched to Redmond, but walking him isn't that bad. Once they pinch hit Tyner for Cirillo. You have to put Accardo in. For someone who constantly overmanages lefty/right in low leverage situations, it amazes me he can't get it right (no pun intended) in high leverage situations.

vwells broke back on that ball when it as 1st hit, bah I don't know whether to say he's lost a step out there or if it was just the Metrodome. I lean to the former because he should be able to tell by the sound off the bat.
