I hope that trade doesn't go down. I am not sure why the Angels would trade for Crede, he definitely does not qualify as the "big bat" they were looking for.

I was initially going to say that the Cubs are doing much worse, but then I realized at least they signed Soriano and Ramirez who will hit home runs and be well above-average with the stick.

Matthews is just embarassing and indefensible. The Angels allow him to clear waivers and go to various teams for 6 years, then when he has a good year, decide to sign him for 5/50?

Playing 2b really wears a player down, and Derosa has about 1/5 the PT at that position as Kennedy.

and

League avg. platoon splits for RHBs are a better predictor of future platoon splits for RHBs than a player's own platoon split, which is great news for the Cubs since they plan to play him every day.

and

I'm not sure what versatility counts for, but Derosa wins it.
