As a Phils fan and an all around baseball fan, I'm rooting for the rockies!

Nice work Rockies no matter how the season ends.

[/ QUOTE ]

The problem is we have no reason to believe our owners will keep this team together so a lot is riding on this year for the fans. In most organizations we'd be happy after this year and look forward to next year but we can't share that optimism.

I keep hearing this but its just not true.

Just because the Rockies have never had young talent to hang onto DOES NOT mean they will not hang onto Holliday/Tulo/Hawpe etc.

The owners have said they won't make the mistake of signing a player over 4 years again (referring to Helton's contract as a mistake). I am not saying they will not keep them but there is no reason to be optimistic about them doing so.

The thing is we're in Denver one of the great fanatical sport towns. Raise ticket prices, sign them all.. if you win the fans will fill the stadium every night.

They did horrible in the FA market in the '90s(mike hampton and denny neagle come to mind) but this is a different team and a different situation, the best MONEY MAKING play is to resign those guys and the fans will keep coming back.

I agree, which I echo'd in my next post. If they raise the prices the fans in Denver will fill the stadium as long as the team is winning.

Lets hope they do it.
