[ QUOTE ] As for Donovan, he's still going to be better than Kolb this year and next. Hopefully he will continue to get healthier this year and for 2008, but I think by 2009 the reins will be turned over to Kolb. [/ QUOTE ] Another issue that might be more important than all on field stuff is McNabb's huge contract next year. He'll have to be playing like a top 5 QB by the end of the year, otherwise I could see them dealing him for a draft pick or less likely, a trade. Also, Kerse is way gone for next (not sure of his contract status for next year, but no way are they paying him either). Dawkins and LJ have to be a good bet to not be here either. [/ QUOTE ] Last years draft was solid with TEs and safeties (Landry/Nelson and a few others I'm forgetting)---the Eagles had enough wiggle room to get Kilb and one safety if they really wanted to. Don't give me Considine and somebody else. |

McNabb IS getting cut at the end of this year. If they could get anything for him he would already be gone.

No need to panic, Andy is aware of the problems and is fixing them. Right now, the Eagles are not a very good team. They have big time issues on offense and their defense isn't built to pitch shutouts. With 2 games vs Dallas, and rematchs with the Giants and 'skins and a game vs the Pats, it's hard to see Philly as much more than an 8-8 squad right now.

[/ QUOTE ] Yes, I would bet my life on it. [/ QUOTE ] You dont value your life very much. They would of got something out of McNabb, you know for a fact that Chilly + Company would of shelled out at least their 2nd rounder for the guy that arguably made Chilly. McNabb is good, just coming off of injury and dosnt have a whole lot of weapons. Westbrook is great, Curtis is average. |

I think the only way they think of dumping McNabb is if he has a Culpepper injury right before the season ends.

Re: *Official* Philadelphia E-A-G-L-E-S Thread (2007-2008)
Pretty good win today, but still think McNabb is the weak point until (if/when) he regains his health. Looked better avoding pressure but made less than a handful of good throws (the one to Lewis over the middle is the only one I remember off the top of my head). Curtis and Brown had a sick catch apiece to help him out and he blew two TD opportunities (behind Lewis and over the head of Smith). This is a Super Bowl contender with a top 10 QB.
Other than that, great job by the defense/Johnson in keeping 8 men in the box most of the game and containing ADP. Special teams looks to be improving on all fronts. And of course, it wouldn't be an Eagles game without a few stupid penalties and wasted timeouts. Also, someone should let Childress know that there are consequences to losing challenges. |
