Re: OFFICIAL WORLD SERIES! - Boston Redsox vs Colorado Rockies
Sox defense should take a major hit at Coors.
Rockies will take 2 of 3 at home so I see this as a 6 game series with the Sox an obv favorite to win unless Beckett loses a game |

Re: OFFICIAL WORLD SERIES! - Boston Redsox vs Colorado Rockies
I think home field's going to matter a lot in Denver, because a) Manny playing the huge outfield in Coors, and b) you're not going to have Youkilis and Ortiz both in the lineup, which will neutralize some of Boston's offensive advantage.

rockies haven't played anyone remotely resembling a team as good as the sox are. Sox in 5.

I'm not going to get caught up in the tiny sample size, but the Rocks did play Boston this year. In Boston. And won two of three -- which doesn't mean much but it sure as hell means the Rockies played someone remotely resembling...um....the Sox. lol |

[/ QUOTE ] the manny on defense point is valid. but even with youkilis out of the lineup, the BOS offense is clearly better. the only position where you have a clearly superior hitter is at SS. your corner outfielders were better in the regular season, but if you look at drew and manny's career stats and recent performance, they are regressing to the mean right now and both swinging the bat well. sox have a clear advantage at 2B, C and CF, ortiz is better than helton if he's in there at 1B, and 3B is close to a push / slight edge to the sox imo. |

Re: OFFICIAL WORLD SERIES! - Boston Redsox vs Colorado Rockies
interestingly, BP has the sox as a slight dog to COL in the WS.
of course, they also started the playoffs with anaheim as the most likely to come out of the AL, and COL the least likely to win the NL, so take that FWIW. |
