MEb, this is standard, and has been discussed previously with regard to other forums that opened mid-month.

Doing it based on "Days open" throws off the total monthly averages.

Most new forums take at least a month anyway before they settle in on a reliable traffic indicator.

Worth noting that the monthly averages of around 12K/day reflects intra-week swings of around 8K - 16K in a pattern that maps very closly to that displayed by peak seats, as noted in the Site tracking thread.

That said... The open for the ElD forum was, as expected, spetacular!

TLDR traffic did increase, but a part of that bump, was the result of the Travel forum threads that were moved there...

fish, imo, it has nothing to do with the number of forums.. if anything, the addition of forums has made it easier to find things...

It does have to do with the increasing amount of quality posts (a side benefit of the extra organization additional forums provide).

[/ QUOTE ]On the other hand, there could be some variation of the draft system in pro sports. The 2+2 audience could be getting a daily update/heads-up on interesting threads in the least frequented forums.
