Re: Official Week 10 College Football Thread
johnny beef,
again, wtf are you arguing? I took issue with FlyWF saying Illinois' stadium is pretty good for a high school. That's absurd given that Memorial Stadium is around #35 in seating capacity, hosted an NFL team for a season in the recent past, and is not located around a highly populated area. It was a condescending, abrasive comment. Considering I've given Ohio Stadium the nod as the best stadium I've seen, I don't understand why everyone is jumping down my throat. |

JohnnyBeef, this is what I argued against: I took down all the points....I wonder what your points are?
[ QUOTE ] I went to the Buckeyes game. A few notes. 1. When did all you guys become Michigan fans? The number one taunt after the game was something like "How does it feel to only be #1 for 2 more weeks?" If I'm ever happy about losing by 7, shoot me in the head. 2. How awesome is it that you've built your whole student cheering section around a QB who got pulled and then hurt? Time to get some new flashcards. 3. Memorial Stadium is the nicest high school football stadium I've ever been in. And the instant replays are sponsored by corn! 4. Are there any black people in Champaign-Urbana? Also, any attractive women? You guys really like Hinder and Nickelback, though, so you've got that going for you. 5. That idiot with the headress was the most racist [censored] I've ever seen in person, and I've been to a Klan rally. [/ QUOTE ] |

[ QUOTE ] you don't remember Eddie George the time before in Columbus fumbling inside the 5 twice, one of which was returned by Illini safety Jeff Arneson for a td. [/ QUOTE ] Was that 96, or 95? In either case, we won both, so once again, moot point. [/ QUOTE ] '92 IIRC. '94 was Johnny Johnson going off and the great D looking great. |

Re: Official Week 10 College Football Thread
Memorial stadium is benches surrounded by flaking concrete. It's big but crappy. And more importantly, the instant replays are sponsored by CORN. CORN!
Also, just to be clear, you felt an appropriate response to ruralness joke was an assertion that black people are too stupid to go to UIUC. No one who doesn't go to UIUC or OSU would see a difference between them academically. However, everyone can understand how sad it is that UIUC fans are ectastic about losing by 7. Every second half possession started with Pittman up the middle twice. |

Re: Official Week 10 College Football Thread
MT2R, you should feel good about this argument. You know you are on your way back to success when people take the time to criticize/flame your program. When was the last time someone took precious seconds to mock Temple's football team?

[/ QUOTE ] especially when Champaign-Urbana is located in the heart of the corn/soybean crop area of the US. Most of the alums donating for the big seats and tailgating spots are.......... farmers. Pretty much make sense that a rural fanbase would have instant replays sponsored by a corn seed company. |
