I'm trying to find a way to prevent most scams.

I've asked Stars and FTP if players e-mailed them to confirm they allowed them to send me their names and addresses, would they?

If so, I would "hold" the confirmed n&a of both parties until the deal was done.

If the deal completed as arranged, I'd delete my record of the n&a. If it didn't, I would give the scammee the n&a of the scammer.

It wouldn't be quite as easy if they won't agree to carrying out their players' instructions in this regard, but we could probably work something else out, along these lines.

Edit/MH: Neither site has agreed to send personal details to a third party, even with their member's authority, so that won't work.

I never scammed anyone, and for arguments sake lets say I did:

As always with transfers with strangers, make sure that you obtain the other person's real name, address and telephone number, and speak to them on the telephone. Check that you have received correct information in order that you have full details to give to the police if you are scammed. Have details of the agreed transfer written in an e-mail exchange. Only transfer in amounts that you can afford to lose, as there is quite a high chance that you will be scammed. Twoplustwo will take no action whatsoever if you are scammed as any transfers are arranged at the full risk of the participants.

You scammed me FakePlasticTrees.

Smooth transaction with BackedUp. Thanks a lot. I'm still waiting on Deke, been almost an hour. Oh well. I got JeNtho to say he'd send first. Waited 20 minutes, got a pm saying just a minute, still waiting 20 minutes later. Ugh. We need to change something. A new thread with lists of scammers or something. I've been scammed by FakePlasticTrees, Jeff311420, and possibly/probably Deke. And everyone knows about Wade17. This is getting out of hand. Maybe we can start a page where people just list scammers? I don't know. Suggestions?
