pedro showing his form, wright got the day off which was awesome, though he rarely needs them anyway...
guess this makes up a tiny bit for the joke of a game the jets played edit: 65 of 92 pitches for strikes, very nice |

Ok, so who are the four Met starters for the playoffs and what order? Anyone else think that at this point Maine is the odd guy out?

You don't want Perez coming out of the bullpen. Though Maine did show a lot in last year's playoff. I assume Maine is the best option at a long relief pitcher out of the 5. |

Re: ****Official 2007 NY Mets NL East Champs Thread****
I think I'd start Hernandez Game 1. He's been our best pitcher and very good at Shea give him Games 1 and 5 both at home. Pitch Glavine in whatever game the umprie with the biggest strike zone is scheduled.

Re: ****Official 2007 NY Mets NL East Champs Thread****
Pelfrey has been a beast since coming back as well. It looks like, barring injuries, the pitching staff is going to be almost impossible to screw up.
Starting: El Duque, Glavine (agreed with ump scouting report BobO), Pedro, and Ollie. Pen: Maine, Pelfrey, Sosa, Feliciano, Heilman, Wagner. Once again, it's going to come down to the offense. Even with injury disasters and unknown quantities leading the way, the pitching in last year's playoffs was great (outside of Trax of course); the bats just plain sucked. Here's to hoping Jose Reyes gets his head out of his ass sometime in the next month! |
