You're quick to point out that Weis "hasn't done anything." His most important contribution during his tenure is that Notre Dame is finally beating the teams it should beat

[/ QUOTE ]

It's a wonderful (but strange) world where Notre Dame shouldn't be expected to beat a Michigan State team that is likely to go 6-6 or 7-5 and finish 6th in a weak Big Ten.

Not even God himself could've scored a second half touchdown in the first 4 games or be expected to compete at ND against Purdue.

This is pretty funny.

Bud Light "Real Men of Genius"

Announcer: Today we salute you, Mr. Delusional, Irrational Notre Dame football Fan....

Announcer: Season after season, year after year, you try to justify your absurdly high pre-season ranking.
Backup singer: Why aren't we number one??

Announcer: You scramble to make futile attempts at damage control when the Irish lose to yet another grossly inferior opponent.
Backup singer: Charlie's headset was broken!

Announcer: Inevitably, you'll bring up the past, and boast of championships won 20 years before you were born.
Backup singer: We wore leather helmets!!

Announcer: You will point out that you have more heisman winners than any other program, as though that is relevant to the current season.
Backup singer: Been playing since the 1880ssssss!

Announcer: Go on, ignore that home loss to Boston College in the regular season for the 6th consecutive time in a row...
Backup singer: BC has better Christians!!

Announcer: And continue to believe that you'll actually win a bowl game some time this century.
Backup singer: We're O for the 2000's!!!

Announcer: So crack open an ice cold Bud Light, oh Emperor of Excuses, and take comfort knowing that when you don't finish in the top 25, you'll be back to number three when the pre-season polls come out next year.
Backup singer: Mr. Delusional, Irrational and Hopelessly Pathetic Irish
Fannnnnnn!

I enjoyed that.

Is anyone watching this? I can't believe how bad ND is. I don't care about gaps in recruiting, etc., there's no excuse for any reasonable I-A program to be this bad. They've been killed in every game! Even some scrub sun belt team could be competitive in one game out of five.

They can't tackle, they can barely get off a successful snap, this football has very little talent and very poor coaching.

They also can't make an extra point or field goal and can't block.

It's all part of the plan to lure in the best recruits with the promise of starting as a freshman!

"This time, I was maybe a little more rough at halftime," Weis said.

I like how Notre Dame was finally able to compete in a football game, and Coach Weis let's us know that his half time speech was the key element.

The awed media was unable to ask the follow on about why he saved it for the fifth game to hear the presumed response: "Well, I'd been breaking out my NFL half-time speeches, but they only work with committed, hard-working athletes, and -- previous regimes didn't leave me any of those. Those speeches are also given to the Pro Bowlers, who in turn pass them on to everyone else-- and you know how many Pro Bowlers I got from my predecessor-- but I've learned my lessons, and I'm finally starting to refocus and dim my brilliance so it can reach the college kid."
