I used to go on camping trips to a local lake with my granparents. On the way, still several miles from the lake, there was a sign that said "islands in road". I looked for those islands for a couple years before i figured it out. I keep thinking, man were a loong ways away to be able to see the islands. 6 years old.

At 5yo i asked my mom one morning What is that? Sun was very large and low in the sky. I have yet to live that one down.

At age 4 i open the fridge, i then proudly tell my mother i know how to spell milk. P-E-T milk.

It is. The tape was developed during WWII using a fabric known as "cotton duck". One of its popular post war usages was on heating ducts, and people started assuming that it was really "duct tape".
