Ok, I finished reading it the second time. There are 7 horcruxs. Diary, Ring, Locket, Hufflepuff Cup, Ravenclaw Diadem, Harry, and Nagini. Well, Voldemort came back due to a horcrux or no? Was his father's bone a horcrux?

Voldemort didn't die on the day he attacked baby Harry because his horcruxes anchored his split soul to the mortal world. He couldn't pass to the afterlife while the horcruxes still existed.

Using dark magic, he regenerated his body using the portion of his soul which always remained in his own body and had survived for nearly fourteen years. That portion of his soul was never a horcrux and existed disembodied all those years.

Ahh, I fail at reading comprehension I guess. I completely missed the boat with how the horcrux's were used. I'm assuming that was explained in book 6 which I read through all to fast and neglected to read again.

Thank you very much Dynasty, that was eating at me.

3- I don't really feel like she did enough with Snape to earn "kid's middle name" status back from all the bad stuff he did. I also thought that this plotline was the most cliche.

Quick thought: Harry prolly has a long talk w/Snape's portrait in the Headmaster's Office at some point after things calm down?

I wish they would write 20 more books. DD past, Voldemort's past, etc.

They do this kind of stuff with star wars books, i dont know why they couldnt do it with harry potter.

JKR has said there prolly will be an encyclopedia at some point. She esp. wants to tell Dean Thomas' story. Book 6 IS Voldy's past story.

Woah hold on I must have missed something. Wasn't it said all through books 6 and 7 that Voldemort split his soul in 7 because it was a magical number and all that? In that list, I count 8 parts (Voldemort himself being #8). Were Dumbledore just guessing about the 7 part soul thing, and did they not explicitly correct it at any point (which would explain why I missed it)?

Harry wasn't supposed to be a Horcrux, it just happened, and presumably Voldemort didn't notice because his soul was so f'ed up.
