Whoaa...

Sully Erna Doubles Up

In Hand #13, Sully Erna, the lead singer of Godsmack, is all in preflop with pocket tens. (Due to the crowd around the table, we didn't get all the details, or the other player's hand.)

There was a loud reaction when Erna flopped a set, but his opponent had a gutshot straight draw. Erna's opponent completed his straight on the turn, and Erna was about to be a bubble boy. But the river card paired the board, and Sully Erna doubles up with a full house.

Alfred Megrabyan Survives with Jacks

Alfred Megrabyan shoved all in with J-J. He was called by a player with {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. Alfred Megrabyan's Jacks held up and he survived on the bubble.

"Man, that takes a lot of balls," said one player from an adjacent table who admitted he folded A-A at least once over the last thirteen hands.

Gus Hansen Likes the River
John Duthie, Gus Hansen, Matthew Hilger, and the big blind all limped in and saw a flop of Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Duthie led out for 9,000, Hansen called, and the blinds folded. The turn was the T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Duthie checked, Hansen bet 13,000, and Duthie called. The river was the A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Duthie bet 31,000 and after thinking it over for about 2 minutes, Hansen called.
Duthie showed the for a pair of tens, while Hansen turned over A-8 for a pair of aces and took down the 116K pot.

Sick, that is just SICK
Edited to add: I think I would play too tight 4 from the bubble. Go Guss!

[/ QUOTE ]

Duthie's a good player. Assuming the hand's reported correctly, WTF was he thinking on the turn & river here?

[/ QUOTE ]

Rep the nut flush on the bubble, maybe get a low club to fold?

Bubble boy?

Jon Moonves Eliminates Rob Thompson

Thompson moved all-in for the last of his chips with {J-Hearts}{9-Spades} and was dominated by Moonves' {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}. Moonves made top pair on the {10-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop but that also gave Thompson an open-ended straight draw. But the {J-Clubs} on the turn and {10-Diamonds} on the river didn't fill that draw and Thompson was eliminated.

edit: apparently this is for an earlier bust out.

This could be the right play. Let's say you're a super small stack and far away from the blinds. I guess you're not figuring in the $10k entry and YEAR SUPPLY OF BEAST!!
