Ernie is a proven loser in these spots.

[/ QUOTE ]

It would be better to post this on a day when he wasn't having the best round of any player on the course.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yet every time he got close enough to actually be a threat at the time, he missed short puts or routine shots. Like I said earlier, he's expert at finishing 2nd to Tiger. Like, duh, you obviously have to play decent to do that.

[/ QUOTE ]

Gee. Just bogeyed the 16th at Southern Hills-- what a choke artist.

Ernie since has turned into a something of a basket case mentally, but that doesn't diminish what he has accomplished.

[/ QUOTE ]

Agreed 100%. But he should've had an all-time great (read: 6-7 majors) kind of career.

Tiger has managed to make the game look so easy that you folks appear to have ingested large amounts of LSD.

When you miss that badly with an easy PW...I would consider that choking.

he plugged along with pars, nothing spectacular, while everyone else fell by the wayside.

Isn't this how Tiger wins majors? So if it's Tiger he's great, when it somebody else, it's not that big of a deal.

Also, the announcers sounded worried there for a minute like Tiger might not win or something. Now, that he's up by 2 there's that excitment back in their voices.

Please. If Ernie hadn't turned into the "basket case" as you called it, he absolutely wins several more majors. Tiger's thoroughly in his head and has been for years which I find pathetic in a top notch golfer at that level.

If only he could combine his game with your mental constitution.

At least. He's like the Greg Norman of this generation. Way too many wins left out there, but in his defense I remember him stepping up recently - the 2004 Masters. But Phil ran wicked hot that day and stole the green jacket from him.

OK, THAT club spin - nothing wrong with that. Just a little exclamation point. Gotta let out a little emotion.
