Theory post... My fishy math needs some help

I raise to 4, 2 callers, good player in position makes it 20.

I have a medium pocket pair and I KNOW one of the cold callers will come along if I make the call.

Can I make the call?
Do I have to guarantee that someone will stack off If I hit?

I think its the funniest thing how when we are running good we think we are the best players ever. And when we hit a downswing We start the think that we arent even long term winners in the game(well you know what i mean). It must be this very feeling that keeps the fish coming back. Even if they have to lose several sessions just to win one, perhaps that one is worth it to them.

Im obviously exgerating about how i dont think im a long term winner but you get the point.?
