Seems to me that you're saying the Jets *should* have changed their signals, thus blaming the Jets and making it seem possible that the Patriots could have used the signals.

No you completely missed what I was saying which was this:

I was saying that his claim that the patriots benefitted directly from the taping Sunday was ridiculous because;

a) The tape was confiscated by NFL officials prior to the 2nd half and that made it very unlikely that the Pats had time to do anything with it.

b) But the Jets braintrust was well aware of the tape because they had their security people there and knowing they were taped would have changed their Defensive signals in the 2nd half just to be safe.

I was calling the posters premise preposterous not the Jets braintrust.

yeah this seems like the right answer...there was really no reason to go as far as using videotape and thus break the rules. Most NFL people agree that it wouldn't have been that helpful compared to the normal versions of spying that are legal.

Gotcha, misread your original argument. Even still, if someone told the Jets that they're signals were being used against them I don't think they could do anything about it.
