Does it count if I beat it on the SNES's Mario All-Stars and used warp zones (no strategy guide)?

[/ QUOTE ]

of course it counts. u should try with no warps though. i wish VC had that game right now. i so want to play, but i'm too lazy to hook my SNES up again.

I haven't even beaten Mario 1, 2, 3, or World without warps. This doesn't really bother me, not sure if I'll ever get around to doing them for real. Wouldn't Mario 3 take like 8 hours straight (to get the original experience without saving)?

I'm not Asian but I'm sure I could beat Mario 3 in like an hour or so no warps. Not a hard game.

smb: the lost levels was released in the EU yesterday. its so [censored] hard. has anyone ever beat that game?

[/ QUOTE ]

I got All Stars for christmas back when I was like ten or eleven, had beaten everything within it by the end of the year (had only actually beaten SMB1 prior to getting it). Lost Levels is tough but not unbeatable, specifically the last four worlds after beating the game first time round are bastards, but I played that game to death while faqqing it in '01 and I never want to play it again

No warps? 1 hour? Nah.. There's some slow moving side scrolling, I bet you couldn't. It's not that it's a particularly hard game, it's that it takes some time to get thru all those levels and cut scenes and such.

October 1st:

Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (NES)
Sin & Punishment (N64)

Pretty good week; obviously The Lost Levels never made it over to the US in cartridge form AFAIK. I do realize it made it over on Super Mario All Stars.

Sin & Punishment is another highly regarded Japanese game that never made it over, either. Plus N64 content is always good, IMO.

Throwing my hat in the ring for Neutopia and Neutopia II. I never owned a TG16 when I was a kid so I never had the chance to play them, but basically, it's like old school Zelda 1 if they had a third and fourth quest with marginally better graphics. Seriously, the knockoff factor is so obscene I can't believe they didn't get sued by Nintendo first time around... but they've definitely been well worth the 1200 Wii Points so far.

And yay, Lost Levels!

is smb all-stars ever going to come out, or are they going to rape us and make us buy each smb game individually?

You can bet it will release eventually, but yeah, well after they've made us buy inferior versions of each. I have no problem with that.
