Requiem for a Dream - manipulative garbage. My favorite reviewer quote about that movie is "less filmed than assembled by an MTV task force committed to the final obliteration of subtlety."

I have nothing original to contribute.

Me neither but I agree with this.

Old School

Everybody I know raves about it like it's the epitome of comedy, and personally I think it's pretty "meh".

A Beautiful Mind - This movie flat-out sucked and Russell Crowe's attempts at acting fell completely flat. He just seemed like 'same old cool-guy Russell Crowe except that he's speaking a little quieter than usual'. Seriously, I thought his acting was beyond terrible in this.

Magnolia - Really thought I was going to like this. A couple friends of mine thought it was terrific. I saw it in the theatre and was amazed at how bad it was. I'm not even giving the standard complaints that it's long and boring. If it wasn't so stupid I could handle that. I just thought almost everything about it is really awful. It's been re-running on IFC the past couple weeks. Yesterday I stumbled on the scene where Joe the cop is having his date with the blonde girl and they have their weird emo-conversation and she's all freaking out and he's pretty nervous and she eventually says, "Do you want to kiss me Joe?" and he says, "Yes, Yes I do."
It's supposed to be moving or touching or meaningful.
But, unfortunately, it just sucks.

Good Fellas - Yes OOT. Go ahead and kill me. I think this movie is okay. I do not think it is the end-all-be-all of awesome flicks.

There's Something About Mary - I laughed a few times. I've ended up having to see it several times. It's just not THAT outrageously funny. Kind of funny in parts: Yes.
Amazingly, incredibly funny all throughout: Nah.

LOL to the earlier stuff in the thread where people are actually claiming to not like Shawshank very much.
Huh?!!?

Also - I liked Ghost World a lot actually.
