Yeah those are pretty good. The first link was the intro for the Charles Smith "forgot how to dunk" game that doomed them in that series. The second one is good too - interesting fact, only one game in the 1998 finals was decided by more than five points, the 42-point blowout in Chicago when the Jazz were held to just 54 points. The third one seemed like a standard mid-season game intro.

The thing I like better about the CBS ones - aside from that the 80s remind me of my youth, and the 90s remind me of my misspent 20s - is that the intro graphics are wrapped around the intro itself, rather than a random song, a backstory, and then the quick music and voiceover bit. Plus those graphics were cutting edge at the time.

Another thing is, CBS had the NBA during its most glorious era - Lakers/Celtics. By coincidence NBC took over the NBA rights the same year the Bulls won their first title, and spent most of the decade riding MJ's coattails, mostly into a ratings swoon as the product started to suck. I mean look at it - in the 1998 finals the most points scored in a game by either team was 96. In only two games did either team even break the 90 barrier. So I guess I also associate those intros with better times for the league.

I'm watching the Kings Sonics preseason game. Haven't seen Durant yet.

It's a shame Artest can't just play his top game all the time. He can be so sick.

Delonte West is absolutely beasting it right now. He's got like 15 points through 14 minutes of play. Given the Cs lack of depth at the PG spot, they're really going to miss him. He's never going to be great, but he should have a long, productive career.

Kings are really going to regret that Mikki Moore signing. What happened to Petrie (Kings GM)? I thought he was good, but he's made some questionable moves as of late.

One of them isn't, however, extending Kevin Martin. This kid is a stud.
