forget about RBI, he played on some low offense teams. in 2004 and 2005 he was nearly the hitter that Manny was. .300 avg, .410 obp, .550 slg.

manny, for comparison: .300/.390/.600

Toro,

Over the past 4 years, Drew was much more valuable/productive than both Soriano and Carlos Lee, both whom were paid ridiculously more than Drew.

no doubt. theo's '05 draft is just so sick. ellsbury/hansen/buchholz/lowrie/bowden as the first 5 picks [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

This is 100% true but he's never well-liked anywhere he plays. Basically because it appears he and doesn't care and he doesn't give a [censored] about the media so they don't help him out either. Baseball is such a long season people have tons of examples to choose their selective memory from.

Forget the stats for a minute, as hard as that may be for you guys and I say that with all respect but answer my other question. Where was the big bidding war for this guy in the off season. The Sox were really the only team that wanted him.

They overpaid since they could have had him much cheaper.

Boros pulled the wool over sox with that warning track crap at dodgers Stadium that would be homers in Fenway. I can only remember him hitting the Monsta once this year.

so you think it was either we pay him $14m, or Drew leaves baseball? if we "outbid ourselves" it wasn't by much. somebody was going to pay him $12m or so. he is too good a hitter.

JD Drew opted out of the remaining 3 years- $33million of his contract with the Dodgers. I bet there was some form of "tampering" going on to have him do that.
