Crap I just ordered a check and could kinda use the money. Here's hoping for my usual 2-4 day turnaround.

Karp,

Lost, and it isn't close. Assuming you're going to start in Season 1 and play catch up. If you start w/ the upcoming season you'll have no idea what's going on. It's a show you have to start watching from episode 1.

Bleh, I stopped watching Lost about halfway through the first season because the plot progression was so mind numbingly slow. Maybe it's because I was watching 24 so much then (am a couple of seasons behind on that now as well), it seemed like what took Lost about four or five episodes took 24 about fifteen minutes.

If they'd cut out the endless backstory that seemed pad out half of every episode it might be interesting.

wow, if you can't even get into the first season then you should give up. That season is so incredibly good it blows me away. I suppose it's just something you either "get" or you don't. I for one think it's probably the best television show ever made. I like it because it presents questions and evidence and it's left up to you to try to theorize about the underlying forces at work. It's a series that rewards thinking/inquisitive minds.

I was initially intrigued with "John from Cincinnati" for the same reasons, but that show failed to deliver after the 3rd episode.

I would also support renting Firefly. Excellent writing. Interestingly enough, David Fury, who wrote for Buffy and Firefly also wrote for season one of Lost (all excellent episodes too), but then he started writing for 24...

Actually,

What TV series should I watch next?

I've enjoyed:

[*]Deadwood[*]Lost[*]The Wire[*]The Shield[*]Oz (long time ago...)[*]The Sopranos[/list]
We get to see the shows here where I live like 3-5 years after they've been broadcasted in the US. So there must be many TV-series' that I've never heard of that are good. Please make suggestions.

It should be kinda fresh though.

"son of the beach" was the best tv series ever.
