One of the more memorable Ernie gags I remember is the 2002 British, which he actually went on to win. He was playing against a bunch of nobodies and did everything he could to choke and hand it to one of those randoms. Kinda pathetic IMO.

I think that had less to do with him stepping up than everyone else stepping back. And none of them (Maggert, Monty, Lehman) had a reputation as being a clutch player. Quite the opposite with all three guys, actually.
