Karate' Mike Santoro's laying down AK to Jordan's K10 wasnt as bad as his bragging about "this is a professional laydown ladies and gentlmen" as he flipped his cards over [/ QUOTE ] Does anyone besides me absolutely hate the idea of doing this? It seems to me that the point of showing a "huge laydown" like this is to gain respect from the table or show how good you are. Why do this? I can't imagine why I would want the people I'm playing with to think I'm world class. I would rather show I'm good by stacking people then by making big folds. Also, when your huge fold turns out to be a huge mistake, you look like a complete tool. This is especially true if you make a speech to go along with folding instead of just shutting your mouth and mucking the cards. In this case, you look like a huge tool on national TV. "You just gave your hand away. Your set of queens is good." Haha. Nice. |

[/ QUOTE ] His name is Augustine Menendez'.He is an A/C regular, and pretty decent/quiet guy,but is just another "nut peddling" ABC poker player.I think he played 3 hands at the F/T all day, even with a decent stack. The one creative hand they showed on T.V.,was where he "squeezed out of the BB"(i think??) with A9o,as well as one with AA's,and his final KK bustout hand to Jordan. ~stephen |

All of this Gold bashing is ridiculous. He completely manipulated Cunningham at the final table with his talk and play, his KJs call of Binger was ballsy, as was the 43 hand he had. Wasicka's fold of the straight/flush draw to get heads up was the biggest wus move of the tournament. For that play his name should be "Wusicka" from now on. All these guys thought they were so much better than Gold(Wusicka commented he could beat him with 1/10th of a stack, they all let their egos get in their way and Gold rolled all of them like school girls. [/ QUOTE ] i totally agree. once they hit the final 3 tables, jamie almost NEVER made a bad decision while all the players sitting around the table kept talking about what a donk he was. it's worth pointing out that at one point, Jamie had 31M and Lee had 21M and was climbing. soon thereafter, Jamie had the pocket AA vs Cunningham and Lee ( pocket 88, 77 respectively ) and finally Lee donked off the rest of his stack going all in with JJ after Jamie re-raised him with QQ. jamie was the only one on fire -- cunningham played great until wasicka bluffed him off his 10's ( but who wouldn't lay those down with that board ?? ) i thought jamie gold was in the zone. especially when he pushed prahlad off his pocket 7's with his banter. gold had prahlad's head virtually spinning until he went all tilt-a-ramic. ok -- so jamie looked bad with his agreement to give away half his earnings -- and has played terribly since the ME. just don't take away credit from what was an awesome performance at that ME. |
