I just want to know if I will look really cool to people if I buy an iPhone. Do you guys think it is worth it for that reason?

I read a little about the Open Moko project. What's the status? Are people using these open source phones yet?

I haven't seen this mentioned yet...

The cost is a lot more than the $500 purchase price.
If you want internet access, that will cost you $60/month.

Where are you getting that $60 from? Unlimited Data PDA access is $40 on cingular, they'll bump it up to $60 if you want to tether your device. How can just getting internet access with no 3G cost $60 a month? Is cingular going to have seperate plans for iphone customers than for regular customers? Please cite source.

EDIT: Also, connecting through the phone's wifi feature will connect you to the internet and be free.

You should let engadget.com and tuaw.com know this because they haven't been able to find out what the data plans are going to be for the iPhone and they specialize in reporting on things like cell phones and Apple products.

Cheapest voice rate = $30
+ Cheapest data rate = $40
Total = $70

I said $60 to be conservative because I don't know the exact price ATT is going to charge. The point is not the exact dollar figure. The point is that the monthly charge is the real cost of iPhone ownership.

A friend sent me a link to the new apple commercial, its [censored] hilarious. I am a big mac user and really hated the previous ones in the series, but this one is actually really funny.
