Re: $500 to $200,000 in 2 months
Oh, forgot to post wrapup, sorry.
I'll start from the beginning. I had been traveling the circuit, but I got bored with the traveling, and my cash game was pretty poor. I wanted to work my way back up through the limits and actually learn in the process. On the first day I just happened to have a good run and decided to make myself a goal. That is when this thread was born. For me, my biggest problem has always been putting the hands. I am not a person that can just sit and grind all day. I wanted to change this, I wanted something to be an external motivating factor. This thread helped a bit, but it made the downswings all the much more painful. I originally offered to propbet, because I thought it would help. Even if I lost 10k in bets, it should force me to play alot more hands. If I played a ton of extra hands because of the bet, then it would have still been ev+ for me. This is why I wasn't to worried about if I could actually get there. Also, I was doing Uberman Sleep . The idea was that I'd be able to put in more hands because I was sleeping less. Overall the sleep went soso, but I had problems sticking to it. I also realized, that even though I was sleeping less, I still couldn't grind super long sessions. It didn't matter of it had 100 hours in a day, I still couldn't grind out 10k hands per day. About mid-April I figured that it was not possible to finish. I was no longer Uberman sleeping, and I just couldn't put in the hands. At the start I hoped for 200k hands a month, but in the end I was only doing 100k. In the end, it was successful in playing more hands than I ever have. I'm really happy that I was able to pull out of the funk that I had been in at the beginning of the year. I feel that my cash game is much better then it was before this, and that's one of the biggest accomplishments here. Here's a full graph of all hands played, ENDING APRIL 30TH. My only advice to someone looking to do something similar: Be realistic with out many hands you can play. If you've never played more then 50k in a month, don't expect to be able to put in more then 100k in a month. Challenge yourself, but give yourself a goal that you can hit. |

i think 50k in that period is a pretty big accomplishment. What do you do with the money now? Further build your roll? Or buy something nice.
