Re: Absolute Poker Scandal: An Inside Job
Have you read the pokermachine posts? He made it obvious he was spamming. This guy clearly has no clue yet somehow became CEO of AP hahaha.

Re: Absolute Poker Scandal: An Inside Job
I'm mostly a lurker, but awesome work going on here ! I read all the stuff in all threads - took a while...
I hope everyone who cashes/cashed out will get the money finally. Would be interesting to know if AP or UB need longer as usual to do all the payouts... |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Can we be sure he is the only one USING that IP? [/ QUOTE ] No, we can't. It could be anyone else with access to his home cable modem. [/ QUOTE ] Do you know that it's his home modem for sure? I know that it is residential, but I don't know for sure it's actually his. It seems like we've only confirmed that it is: a) residential (someone told me this) and b) something he used (you confirmed this in your earlier post) I think it would be his home, but don't know for sure. [/ QUOTE ] Check his ISP's TOS. Most of them are going to have a section in there that explicitly forbids a bunch of activities, and if you can prove that he broke the TOS, the ISP might be more willing to divulge info. |

Re: Absolute Poker Scandal: An Inside Job
Apparently Scott and Phil are brothers, unless this is a different person:
http://www.google.com/search?q="phil+tom"+"absolute+poker" Not to play Devil's Advocate here, but it is possible that a residential cable modem is being used at the offices of AP in Costa Rica. It is listed as a residential modem but it may be used by everyone in their offices. Also, it appears that Phil Tom and maybe Scott Tom know a bit about poker, judging from some of their results. This would make me think that they would not be so stupidly obvious about cheating. However, if they just undertook a big buyout of UB to take them private and keep them in the US, they may have a cash flow problem and thus decided to cheat. It is impossible to know these things for sure at this point, so don't rush to judgment. |
