Default Re: Vick Pleads Guilty

Vick has been a horrible fantasy quarterback the last few years.

Kitna is a classic example of a guy who is not a very good QB in real life but a good fantasy QB.

When Vick plays his teams win when he does not they lose. Bottom line. If you ever watch Atlatnta play the past few years you would see that when they needed a big play Vick would make it happend with his legs. Beleive me if they used him more rushing he would have topped 1500 yards easily. The problem is that you basically dont want him taking too many open field hits like he is going to take.

At the start of this year he definitely would have been in the 5 range of QBs to take if you were starting a franchise. He has made his team a winner in lot of non stat ways.

You people are ridiculous if Vick's talents were used properly (by both himself and his coaches he would have been an alltime great)

Elway was a pretty raw thrower and very good runner early in his career and Vick could have done the same thing. Most QBs best years are near 30 when their physical skills are near peak and they have had many years to win the league. I would assume Vick is going to miss his prime years.

Please define "winner."

PS: I'm pretty sure this is just someones gimmick account trying to rile people up. Nobody can really be this stupid.

whats more laughable, me saying vick has made the falcons a winner? or someone claiming Kitna is a better player than Vick????????????????

The Falcons were 4 - 12 the year before Vick took over. He took this lousy squad to an NFC title game in just two years.

2003 5 - 11 hmm Vick missed 12 games hmm Vick is not worth alot of wins. better replace him with Jon Kitna.

magically they go 11 - 5 the next year - only difference Vick.

The last two years slightly disappointing but Vick still has time to grow as a QB.

This team would have been 3 - 13 last year without him and they will be 3 - 13 this year.

there are only a handful of players in the league whose records would decline this much without them.

so screw you. Kitna ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. He's a decent thrower and hes a great system but he cant touch Mike Vick.

All i can say is Jon Kitna is a better football player than Mike Vick ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

The 04 Falcons had one of the easiest schedules in the league. The 03 Falcons had one of the hardest. Most of the 04 improvement was luck and schedule.

in 2003 the falcons were 2 - 11 going into week 13 they went 3 - 1 down the stretch. hmm only difference was a certain number 7 missed the first 12 games. ha ha ha ha.

lots of teams luckbox into the NFC Championhip game, pretty common. lots of teams would go 2 - 12 without their starting QB than go 3 - 1 down the stretch and have a big next season.

its laughable. anyone who thinks mike vick was not a huge difference maker for his team never watched a whole falcons game.

the stats he would have compiled if he ran more would have been off the charts. they tended to preserve him for big spots and putting him in a west coast precision passing system had to be one of the dumbest ideas in football history.

Im sick of people who claim was not a very good quarterback. why cant people accept that scrambling ability can be part of a qbs skill set.

his team's win differential was staggering versus when he played and when he did not. also atlanta's great running game was a product of teams having to account for vick as a running threat.

Vick certainly was not an all time great QB but many qb's best years are between 28 and 33. his physical speed etc. may have slightly declined but his football instincts would have been much better.

i think if vick and the falcons would have accepted that he was never going to be some west coast precision passer and just worked on utilizing his rocket arm and speed he would have turned out much better.

i just think he was one of the most physically gifted players to ever play the game. He had some very very good years but if the team had used him better and he accepted the fact that he was a different style of QB it would have turned out way way better. He still had another window of 5 years to prove he was an all-time great. i defintiely dont think petrino was the right coach for him but vick's career accomplishments should not be completely ignored.

I'll give him some credit for helping the offense indirectly like making the team rushing better, but 95% of a QB's value is passing skills - reading defenses quicly, passing accuracy, and arm strength. If you have all those, you can play in cement shoes and still be great.

Even with Vick's bonus points for running, he's still a C quarterback.

He was more effective around 2003 than the last couple years because at that time defenses were basically dropping off him to try to cut down his angles. The last couple years, they have been sending LBs and DEs right after him which has really been effective (most sacked QB).
