2 up with 5 to play guys. We are fine. The Brewers aren't going to sweep SD.

Keep in mind that in order to blow the lead, the Cubs must have a minor collapse AND the Brewers must win out. Either that or a major Cubs collapse combined with a winning Brewers record this week.

Brewers host the San Diego pitching staff for four games. The baseball gods have not blessed the Brewers for 25 years - I don't think they are about to provide a minor miracle now.

It would be fun (depending on who you ask) if it were, say, a one game deficit after tomorrow, though.

Nonononono.

For the sake of my 79 year old grandfather who worked concessions at Wrigley Field at the Series in 1945, I hope they can at least maintain a 2 game cushion. If they happend to get lucky and win the World Series, it would be terrible if he died of stress and anxiety a few weeks before the WS.

I really feel sick, and don't think I have ever felt that much worry in any sports ever. I know that seems over the top, but for some reason I grew real attached to this team early in the season and am having a mini-meltdown right now. Please god, haven't we suffered enough?

[/ QUOTE ]

This is a joke right? You are complaining about a period of time <1 year for rooting for the Cubs?

He meant this particular Cubs team. Most Cubs fans don't really have an attachment to a specific team from a really crappy season (like last year).

Also good news for later is that Adam Dunn is probably done for the year.

Bad luck in the Marlins games + bad calls by the home plate umpire...what a miserable game to watch.

I'm done looking at BP's playoff odds reports, those numbers don't reflect the fact that we're cursed
