lol who's looking forward to seeing some crappy team give antawn jameson 10 trillion dollars a la rashard lewis?

[/ QUOTE ]

Lewis is notably younger than Jamison. Lewis was 28 when he signed his obnoxious contract. Jamison's not getting the max. He's a good player. Maybe very good. But he's not an All-Star and he's certainly not a great player or franchise-type guy, especially at that age.

He'll resign for 5 years, $60M or something, a deal Washington will regret in about 2 years.

eh whatever, I'll look through the teams individually and post the free agents to be:

Of course I'm only listing the big names.

Antawn Jamison
Jason Williams
Juan Dixon
Michael Finley
Bruce Bowen
Eduardo Najera
Ricky Davis
Kurt Thomas
Sam Cassell
Kwame Brown

Meh....looks pretty boring to me.

[/ QUOTE ]

I see only 1 big player on that list. Then a couple of decent players.

[/ QUOTE ]

Obviously Juan is in another league, but Jamison is still a very capable scorer and I'm very interested in seeing the interest that Bowen gets.

Personally I think that sometimes things like this can be used to predict breakout years from talented but troubled guys....Kwame Brown kinda fits that bill. Anyone think he has one very good year, gets paid, then returns to mediocrity for the rest of his career?

I really really hope the Wizards don't try to resign him....nothing personal against him because he seems like a good guy and he is our only(many teams have 2) captain.

I don't see it with Kwame, he seems to have lost a lot of explosion and he is still very uncoordinated when he manages to catch the ball. Solid low post defender, but I don't seen him ever scoring consistently.

Has anyone else here grown watching the NBA on CBS in the 80s like I did? Here is the best NBA on CBS intro I could find that would let me embed, but you can find some pretty sweet Celtics-Lakers intros on Youtube. Also, Dick Stockton wasn't half bad then but he's running on fumes now.

This intro is for the game where the Lakers got bounced by the Rockets in 1986.

Al,

It's the greatest intro in sports history, so it's better than all of them!

In fact, the only other intro that's close is the NFL Today, also from the 80s:

Its wild after all these years, I can still anticipate that music, before I hit play, that "da da dada, da dada, da da dada da...". They should bring that back, "let get it started, yeah, lets get it started, right" or whatever they play now, lol.
