Re: Who has the highest \"Cuba number?\"
Cuba Calculations - Methodology
I have copied IMDB data and now have a reasonable subset of data on actors, movies (not TV shows, video games, or mini-series) , and their ratings from IMDB users. The plan is to get the Cuba number for anyone named here in the thread by taking the Cuba = MAX(rating of movies for a performer) - AVG(rating) Naturally, this is somewhat arbitrary, since it relies on IMDB ratings for the movie as a whole, and does not take into account how the actor did in the movie, or how large or small a role. Should be fun to see anyway. Another arbitrary thing I did was to use minimum votes for the movie for the ranking to count. This is important since one fringe movie have rated can make a big difference. Take, for example, my pick of Christopher Lambert. His Cuba number for all rated movies is 3.92, with a high of 9.1. That is not Highlander, though, it is a documentary on "Queen" which was rated by 96 people. Use movies rated by 100 or more and the Cuba drops to 2.10 with high of 7.10, for "Highlander" as expected. |

Re: Who has the highest \"Cuba number?\"
I recall Phillipe being decent in Way of the Gun. I also thought he did a good job of playing a part that charitably was intentionally campy and likely realistically was the worst writing ever in Cruel Intentions.

Re: Who has the highest \"Cuba number?\"
The thing that strikes me is Travolta. Despite really strong ratings for Pulp Fiction, and to a lesser degree Hairspray, Carrie, Blowout, Grease, he just cannot get over stinkbombs like Battlefield Earth, Perfect, and the Look Who's Talking movies.

Re: Who has the highest \"Cuba number?\"
I don't understand either of the two people ahead of my boy Stephen. Travolta has at least two classics and Fraser strikes me as a pretty consistant actor who gets cast in [censored] parts.
DIDS WINS AGAIN. |

Heder is also surprising. Give him two years of sleepwalking through projects he signed on for while he could still get paid, and you'll see his number move up.

I agree, though, Baldwin was an excellent choice. |

Hello, Saturday Night Fever? [/ QUOTE ] It is up there in his highest rated. Probably not high enough, but plenty of people in the 90s watched the movie, saw nothing but the crazy clothes and laughed it off, without appreciating it for the class and race struggle that underscores the escapis t (and fantastic) dancing. |
