Adding Texas Tech -9 for 2units.
Reasons: SMU overrated for their returning offensive production. Texas Tech has addition occur by subtraction on Defensive line side of ball. SMU mainly passing offense and Tech is extremely deep at DBs allowing alot of 5-6 DB packages. Tech's Offense is always high scoring as its the design. I have this game as Tech -17.5 so will gladly take it at -9. |

I think TT is a bigger mismatch too and think SMU got a bit overrated with some so-so performances against mostly crappy competition towards the tail-end of last year.
Also thinking that the home-field advantage is minimized there. SMU does not have a ton of fans. Looking at their 2006 box-scores I see two games of 12k and 13k. Even against Houston which should draw a bit better they only got 20k TT and their alums in Dallas could over-run the place with their fans and turn it more into Tech-Nation for this game. So SMU playing on their home-field for this one is pretty 'meh'. TT -9 FSU -3 These lines have moved to 9.5 and 3.5 since then so I feel good that I appear to be on the correct side for both of these games. |
