Although 3 years won't really be noticeable on someone like Locke or even Kate, it will be make Walt look incredibly older than he should be.

[/ QUOTE ] They could've already shot the footage and just not put it out for a few seasons. Of course that assuming that they've already planned out all the storylines(which I believe to be true, but I know everyone doesn't).
