Default TheMetetron attempts to win a Party Cruise....

Alright, so I decided to go for the Party Poker Million cruises they are giving away despite the fact that I'm only a Blue VIP member. I figure at the least, I'll get a bunch of hands in and make a bit in rakeback/play. If I get the cruise, it's just an added bonus.

I'll be 10-tabling the Party $10/20 6max on a 2405FPW and 2001FP (my video card for my 3rd monitor is tweaking out) with some overlap. I slept like 16 hours yesterday in preparation. I'll also be using no-doz and a sleep aid in an attempt to try to regulate my sleep schedule.

As a Blue Member it will take me 27,777 raked hands which I figure to be about 32,000 regular hands at 10/20 (I hope). As of now, I'm getting about 900 hands per hour so it will take me about 36 hours to finish this. I figure that will be 3-4 days.

I may take this as the start of a $60,000 in 60 days challenge, but I'm undecided on if I want to try that right now.

Anyways, here's how it's gone:

9:30 PM - 1:00 AM :: I get started a half hour later trying to screw with my video card. Overlap sucks. Anyways, I get in 3,144 in 3.5 hrs and lose $1,300. Fantastic.

1:00 AM - 1:15 AM :: I take my first break and I'm proud that I got 3.5 hrs in without stopping, I know that won't keep up later on. I grab some cereal and gatorade and take a bathroom break. Then it's back to the tables.

1:15 AM - 3:45 AM :: I run hot and go up $2,600 in 2,339 hands (5,483 total). I've spent 6 hours total on this challenge and I can feel a little fatigued, but I think I'll be okay. Need a break though.

3:45 AM - 4:25 AM :: Unfortunately my internet was acting up so my break was 10 minutes longer than I wanted. Had a luncable and some more gatorade... fiddled with internet for about 25 minutes of this. Not fun.

4:25 AM - 6:10 AM :: I am very fatigued from sitting here so long. 7.75 hrs of playing time, run up another $500 in this session of 1,437 hands (6,920 total). I can really, really, really not see straight and I'm going to take an hour long break and maybe take a quick nap. My stomach is also hurting me and my piriformis syndrom butt problem thingy is acting up. Really not having fun now.

Overall, I'm up $3,100 in 7.75 hrs and 6,920 / 32,000 hands. About 1/5 of the way there and I'm running at 1.5 BB/100 (slightly below my normal winrate). Maybe I can get this done in 3 days, but I have crap to do all day today and a lot of tomorrow.

Anyways, I need to make the most of this break as I have to start again at 7:10 AM.

Note: All times Pacific.

More later...

No it's not. It's reminding me why I only get on 20 hours a week. Poker is boring as crap for a job.

this truly sucks and i'm freaking tired.

I've played over 12k hands today and I'm down about $1k (but have been making a nice comeback lately...the donks are especially donkey-ish on this XMas Eve)

Hope we can both make it. If we do then I'll hand-deliver that long overdue postcard I wsa supposed to send you from last year's cruise.

Down $1k? So what is your BB loss total then? 1300bbs?

Also can somebody give me a quick rundown of this promotion or a link? What do you guys gotta do to get a free cruise?

First 30 players to get 25,000 regular party points can buy a cruise for 50k party points. I have very little chance, but the fact that Bob thought this and still got one last year has me hopeful.

You win a $10,200 entry to the PP Million V, $800 spending cash, and a 7 night cruise for 2 to the Cayman Islands and Mexico.
