![]() ![]() I had a major surge in the middle and actually thought I was going to get even. It was interesting that when I started playing, about 6-7 people were seeing the flop, by the time it was over, I was playing with the same two guys and just couldn't catch cards or hold a lead as they pretty much went to every showdown with me. I could have minimized my losses with less pre-flop raising and probably a little less aggro during the hand, but, oddly enough, the few times I slowed down and tried to trap, I missed a bet or two. Bluffs were flat out not working for obvious reasons. Interesting idea, it was fun, if nothing else, to watch the table try to adapt once they knew I was seeing every showdown. If I ever did this again, I'd tell the whole table up front what I was doing and see if that changed anything. |

I am some nit, some of this stuff is just mind-blowing to me. I am a 20 year old sophmore in college. I have an earning potential that is around 200/hr so I am not so far removed from the concept of dealing with much more money than ever previously accustomed to. The idea of dropping out/taking some time off has crossed my mind as I sometimes fall asleep in econ or do whatever I may be doing at 12 on a Wednesday rather then be in class. The more I read about the kids who have chosen to drop out , the more comfortable I am with the decisions I am making in my own life. These tools can be learned without college, but the academic and social interaction seems to be more valuable then $x dollars. I just think it is easy to get caught up and short-sighted as a young kid, making a lot of money. Newhizzle displays some characteristics that make me think college might be worth more then he can fully understand at this point. [/ QUOTE ] That's precisely what I think. Nh sir. |

raise the turn. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, smooth calling on the flop to wait til the bets are doubled is fine, but you have to raise that turn for value. |

Im pretty new to the BBV. This is the funniest poker story/contest I've ever read.
If that guy (newhizzle) can afford 3 grand then more power to him. The fact that its 5-10 makes it way better then some .25 .50 game. I laughed my as off. Poor college kids made money. Whizzle had a blast. Whats the whining for again? |
