JVAN from NDnation is deluded

the junior class Recruiting is on Weis' head

expectations were for ND to win 7 or slightly more games this year---at least that is the line people were betting

O/U started at 7.5 wins and it got hammered down to 7 wins

Citing NDNation for anything other than humor is a bad idea.

MyTurn2Raise, how much can a head coach reasonably be expected to recruit in the final 1-2 months before signing day? If you look at recruiting now, almost every team has at least 10 guys verbally committed, many with closer to 20 or more, and everyone who's any good at recruiting has been talking to recruits since their junior year. If he had left the Patriots, what is the likelihood that that recruiting class would have been substantially improved, given that at the time he was hired he was just another coordinator under the shadow of Bellichick and not some returning savior ala Nick Saban.

You do realize that ND plays much harder competition in bowl games than anyone else?

see Butch Davis--he stole one of the top wideouts in the nation from ND with that much time (UNC was not a factor beforehand) and got a great DT from the DC area, perhaps the best DT among high school seniors.

it could've been and would've been better--he is the head coach at NOTRE DAME...one or two personal visits would've made a world of difference. Looking at his last two classes, it seems he can pull in some guys.

not top 10 or anything, but there could've been an impact player or two and more guys that could develop into being competitive players.

I'm not saying he made the wrong decision in staying with the PATS full-time. It was a very difficult spot.

I'm just saying he chose one way and it worked out for that franchise. However, it has hurt him in his new job. To pass the blame for that class solely onto Willingham is not right.
