Re: ** WSOP ME, $10,000 NLHE, Day 4, Fri., July 13 **
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I also wonder how much people started to become pre-occupied with their stack size relative to the table average/leaders rather than the blinds. It's like they're seeing everyone accumulate chips as people get knocked out and they forget that they don't have to push 30BB UTG with 22. [/ QUOTE ] this is an excellent point. its so easy to do this, especially since players are not used to such deep tourneys, at this stage in a regular tourney they have to make a ton of moves. i would wake up every morning and say to myself, remember, its a marathon not a sprint because i would feel myself wanting to do the same. [/ QUOTE ] nh nh to both posters...very good point that i hope our boys are keeping in mind right now |

Bob Slezak Doubles Up through Sam Padgett
Bob Slezak pushed all-in from late position and Sam Padgett called from the big blind. Slezak had {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}, Padgett had {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and the board came {Q-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{4-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}. Slezak won the pot with two pair and doubled. Hang in there, Sam! |

At this rate, Day 4 will only last 5 hours or so.
Freaking sick. People just blow up. |

Re: ** WSOP ME, $10,000 NLHE, Day 4, Fri., July 13 **
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Mostly on preflop all-ins. [/ QUOTE ] That's the ugly future of NL hold'em. [/ QUOTE ] David O'Neal Is Eliminated By Justin King Before the flop O'Neal raised to 24,000 and King called in the small blind. They checked the {A-Spades}{3-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop and the {7-Spades} on the turn, but when the {J-Spades} hit on the river and King again checked, O'Neal moved all-in 260,000. It was a huge overbet (there was only about 60K in the pot) and King asked, "Why would you bet so much?" O'Neal didn't reply at first, but as King thought over the situation and asked the same question again O'Neal just shrugged. King announced his call and turned over {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, which beat O'Neal's pocket Queens. He was eliminated and King is now up to 1,080,000. This is what happens when they try to play after the flop. |

Looks like Gus lost more than 1/3 of his stack. He was at 1.6 mil and now at barely over 1 mil.

Neutral news: there hasn't been a single update on Sam's chip count. |

Has anyone played with Tobey Maguire? He got pretty damn deep this year, even after running KK into AA at least twice. Anyone that can comment on his game?

Well, you'd think he wouldn't open shoves 40 BBs with AA in LP, but you never know today I guess.

Isaac Haxton Wins A Huge Pot
With nearly a half million in the pot already and the board reading 96A89 Haxton made a 250,000 bet and Robin Bergren called. He turned over KK which was 2nd best to Haxton's A2 . That pot pushed Haxton up to 1,400,000. |
