I missed the directional portion of this thread, but I had always heard of lefts as "Louie" and rights as "Rosco".

Don't ask me where it came from, that's just what I've always heard.

"Out of pocket" as in someone who is only available by cell phone or PDA says they're "Out of pocket".

Someone says that, I want to reach IN my pocket for a gun.

"Aight" has already been mentioned.

"Whatever" isn't bad unless someone pronounces it like Amy Fisher/other Long Island trash...."What-EVAH."

The egregious use of "get your ____ on" drives me crazy - it's not so bad when it's something like "I was with your mom getting my poke on" or "We were getting our drink on", but it's just getting out of hand...such as "I went back home and got my study on"...ugh.

Props to whoever mentioned the use of 'hubby' from those Jean Teasdale/Onion articles....those are histerical...

Holla,

i say a lot of these in jest to people who know i am not serious just to bug them. mostly shortened words like whatev. My girlfriend usually hits me for it but laughs at the same time.

My point is that while most of the ones mentioned are very lame, what makes it lame is HOW you say it. like if you are dead serious about it and say it with no realization of its gayness, then you suck. Throwing it in for a laugh is ok if not overused.

But, using 2+2/online slang in real life is ALWAYS stupid.

"out of pocket" is awesome.

"get your ___ on" can be horrible, can me good.

po-po is solid, but 5-0 and "one time" are better. saying "on time" is awesome in any context.
