squashinton,
I was at Jasper Fri. night. I only played about 1 round of HE before getting called to the Omaha table. In the HE it seemed that $12 to see a flop was pretty much the norm. The Omaha was the same ole same ole. I broke about even then played in the tourny. Got knocked out 11th and drove back to Ga. I am a tall, ugly late 50's guy. lol. Maybe see ya there some time.

My 3 sessions.... +5, +287, -450. The last session just started off with overall bad karma, as I drove out to Brighton (game wasn't started yet), then went another 90 minutes down to Hard Rock and got there just as they lowered everything back to $100 max. Within the first hour, I picked up AA then got bluffed off it on the river when there was a str8, a flush on board and the guy was calling me on flop then checking dark like he had a set or draw. Then that hand tilted me, I didn't wanna get "run over" anymore and called off most of my losses with top pair with one lower kick, or would call an all-in after flop of 3 rags with JJ v QQ. The $100 short stack structure really got into my head, as I'm used to playing with $200-$300 stacks. So I was "stuck" at the Hard Rock after an entire day of preparing to play poker and driving. It's now after midnight and I'm tired and chasing. Plus, the game constantly had to be stopped for dealer issues or this one dude lost $100 that he finally found tucked under the pad (sort of accusing the guy who just sat down next to him). One of those nights of "bad vibes" Probably should of just left somewhere in between and I excersised poor money management.

Bottom line...I was at a table with 3-4 aggressive players and with my style I need to be the aggressor. Instead I became a caller. It wasn't so much playing marginal hands (although I maybe played some drawing hands when implied odds weren't there). At these tables, with the stacks the way they were, I made few hundred dollars of calls that I shouldn't have after the flop which adds up to a lot over a session. Plus, the cards went totally dead the last 6 hours.

That was my worst session to date live out of about 25.

I was able to get my first session in at Tampa Hard Rock and the action at my 1/2nl table was redic.

First hand I get dealt in, MP1 makes it 40 to go after one limper gets cold called and the limper calls, three way to the flop, MP1 shoves the flop and takes it down showing A4o.

Second hand I see:

Live Game at Tampa Hard Rock / no limit

Dealt to Lord_Strife [Kh Ks]
UTG: calls $2
UTG+1: calls $2
UTG+2: raises $2 to $4
MP1: calls $4
MP2: calls $4
MP3: calls $4
Hero: raises $36 to $40
LP2: folds
Button: folds
SB: fold
BB: fold
UTG: Calls $38
UTG+1: calls $38
UTG+2: folds
MP1: calls $36
MP2: folds
MP3: folds

POT: ~$170
*** FLOP *** [Th 6s 4s]
UTG: checks
UTG+1: bets $60 allin
MP1: calls $60 and is allin
Hero: calls $60 and is allin
UTG: calls $60, has rest covered
POT: ~$409
*** TURN *** [Th 6s 4s] [2c]
*** RIVER *** [Th 6s 4s] [2c] [Jh]
*** SHOW DOWN ***
UTG: shows [9s 8s]
UTG+1: shows [Qc 3c]
MP1: shows [9h 9d]
Hero: shows [Kh Ks]
Hero collected $409 from the pot

Dare I say, shippit?

1st session yesterday at Tampa HR

+147 over 5 hours. Was +350 but all the lagtards lost all their money and left at about the 3.5 hour mark. one dropped about $1500 in less then an hour. the table got real tight\passive after they left so I started splashing around with marginal hands trying to get the action back.

bad idea.

hit top 2 pair several times and lost to runner-runner straight and flush.

seriously though this place is a gold mine. If you can beat the 10NL on stars then you will crush the 1\2 NL at tampa HR.

Thanks MicroBob for the insights. Good luck in PC, and I'm looking forward to an Ebro rundown. I will post something if/when I make it over to the track on a rainy day...
