I just don't see how 3-bet stats can be anywhere near reliable until 5K hands or so. Players that are 3-betting enough that we would wants stats on are doing so based on the table and their position at that table...all info that we cant possibly have.

Fold% to 3-bet would be good though I guess.

[/ QUOTE ]

ya I agree, current table dynamics can't really be quantified with historical stats all too accurately with these types of players.

think everyone still uses PT, but there are different HUDs floating around the software forum with stuff like 3-bet, fold to 3-bet stats.. made by a forum member.

my mistake, seems like there's no fold to 3-bet %, just 3-bet and call c-bet %.. also seems to be just an FTP based thing tonight

I know. I'm looking for book recommendations for a friend, and beyond NLTAP I can't think of a single book that I would recommend for NL cash.

BTW, as much as I agree that the forums are better than any book, reading books has to improve your game. If you are a serious student of the game you should be able to read a book and recognize the useful parts of it and discard the rest (i.e. think critically about the contents). Imho NOT doing so is being narrow-minded.

[/ QUOTE ]

I actually think just ToP or HoH are better books even though they're not specifically on NL cash.

[/ QUOTE ]

ToP contains a lot of concepts that you MUST understand to be good at ANY form of poker.

But it's not directly applicable to NL Cash.

I love HoH but it contains a lot of advice that is pretty shaky for playing with 100BB stacks.

Anyway, he's read ToP.

I seriously need to find time to play more. [censored] MBA. I know some of you play this in a week (or 3 days, lol), and I used to before school... I miss those days sometimes.

ESPECIALLY during exams
