womble, why would he ever have Ax there? i guess maaaaaybe A4s is in his range, but that's really about it. hand is very standard

[/ QUOTE ]

Ok - so, can someone tell me if this reasoning is right?

After the flop call his range is what, mid PPs, straight draws, maybe set/overcards/5x

After the turn, again straight draws/stubborn mid PPs

River - the straight hits but onle 23s so more likely he has paired the 6 rather then hit his straight/mid PPs all of which fold?

I really need to hand read better

BR is currently ~$15k. I spend most of my winnings though so I've earnt a lot more than that.

Today was is obviously mainly my luckbox working at full capacity, but I did have an epiphany before todays session. I want to make a proper thread about this later, but today for the first time I did a really long-term PokerEV analysis, and looked at my "Expected All-in winnings" graph. This was a revelation - WOW. The variance is truly miniscule, a very very smooth trend upwards most of the time, at least for my style of play. But this graph would occasionally plummet downwards at the same rate for big stretches of hands! This clearly showed that I sporadically start getting it in bad for long stretches. This wasn't explainable by tilt alone either - I realised there were subtle changes that were drifting in and out of my game without me consciously realising it. I have a whole lot more typed up, but some things really clicked when I saw that.

Here's my month so far. I've finally moved up to 200NL for goddamn good thats for sure. I'm doing OK I guess but I have still been tilting way too much and can do a lot better I think. I think I've improved a lot this month.

Yeah, I've played with you a bit recently FE and you have definitely improved an awful lot since we played at 100NL early in the year thats for sure. gl with continuing your success (obviously not when I'm at your tables!).

Also I bought some good headphones + audio rig the other day, and that really helps with concentration and putting the hours in for me. I used to get listening fatigue really quickly, and listening to my family do nothing but watch stupid TV programs or concern themselves with the pettiest of stuff constantly tilts the hell out of me.
