What was your read???? That the guy had a Q and if you bet the turn and then another scary card came on the river you could take down the hand?

[/ QUOTE ]

Well on the flop, I raise because he donked into me, and I don't let that happen. The turn seems like a good card to fire a second barrel on. On the river, the pot is so huge, and he seems like he REALLY wants to fold. My shove only has to work like 35-40% of the time to be profitable, so I shove it.

preflop sucks, I dont know why you want us to ignore it.

river is a pretty easy fold imo.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well the guy would call like ne raise PF and would never fold to a cbet so I wanted to play a cheap flop against him. He didn't raise too much so I decided to call.

What's his river range? KK, diamonds, better 9?

Imrahil, I fold the river. I dont see you being good often enough here. A flush looks very likely, with a boat or better nine possible too. I find when a passive player makes a big raise like this they normally have a strong hand.

Getting value out of sets, worse flushes, A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]x, K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]x, straights, overpairs and 8x. If he does have something you want to get money in the pot now. There are also plently of river cards which can kill your action, depending on what he has.
