Nothing overly interesting.

Got drunk one night and told a buddy I'd move out there with him if he got a job. He did.

I'm also pretty bored in my smallish home town.

There is also very little in the way of work for my background (mechanical engineer).

Calgary is booming due to the oil industry.

I use to ski a lot. Calgary is close to the rockies.

So, there is just a number of reasons to make the move. Ultimately, it's probably going to be so I can get my mechanical engineering career back on track.
