No, I think its deceptive. I would lead out looking to ideally get raised. People dont expect to see a set when you lead, they expect a c/r

Devin, don't you think leading into 3 others, 1 of whom is the preflop raiser looks ridic strong?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes I do. But I don't play 50nl.

I think MPs 3-bet looks redic strong, so I'm hoping my bet traps some more of UTG's money in the pot before MP shoves his AA/KK here.

I don't mind checking here, but my intention on this dry board is to trap other peoples money in the pot, not necessary for deceptive purposes.

I don't think you need to be deceptive at 50nl.

With three opponents I'm opening here and hoping to get raised. Even weaker players recognize that a check-raise means something and that's the "standard" way to play a set at these levels. Most average players at this level don't expect someone with that strong a hand to lead out with it so by acting strong you actually conceal your strength.

Doyle Brunson taught me that leading out trick

I never donk bet in a multiway pot as a bluff

but you are not playing 1000nl here, and the point is to get raised by AK/KQ/AA

I think leading out looks weaker than c/r. And you need to get some money in there to stackadonk on the turn or river.

Why is stack-a-donk better on the turn/river than standard value bet on this spot?

As it stands, the pot is too small for a bet large enough to stack anyone. By getting some money in now, you set the stage for larger bets on later streets.

this looks sound, and would be my default play.

how about this for thinking:
a) we think we're probably ahead of villain's range - which may include all sorts of crap that randomly hit that board, but may also include sets, flushes, etc.

b) if we check behind on the turn, villain will be some of the random rubbish (perhaps including a diamond if one comes) and we will often be making a mistake

c) however, if we bet the turn, and villain calls, we can almost certainly fold to a river bet

d) if we bet the turn, we have some fold equity

e) if we bet the turn and get checkraised, we obviously fold

if you're willing to put a little more money into the pot (by calling a reasonable river card if it comes) it would make sense to me to put it in on the turn when you have fold equity, not on the river when you'd be calling a bet sized by your opponent.
