Re: How do Americans view Europeans?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I don't have numbers at hand to back this up, but I am pretty sure that Europeans are increasing their productivity each year faster than Americans are, despite these laws. [/ QUOTE ] Eventually we reach a point where the standard of living in the serious welfare states can't conceivably go up much more. Then the productivity is irrelevant unless we're talking about maintaining as opposed to increasing. That's not true. http://bigpicture.typepad.com/commen...uropean_p.html Of course, that only matters if you find productivity rates to be of particular importance (they're not). [/ QUOTE ] How are productivity rates not particularly important? Increasing productivity is the best indicator of an increase in standard of living in a market economy. [/ QUOTE ] |

To me it seems like the American system in general creates bigger winners but also bigger losers than the more sosialist system in Norway. [/ QUOTE ] So true.. |

For reference I am an educated (2 master's degrees) Texan who would be considered a religious conservative by others. Yes I voted for Bush. [/ QUOTE ] Unless the degrees are in Theory of NASCAR and Physical Education from DeVry, does not compute. I couldn't help myself. Seriously, though. WTF? |

Barretboy's avatar makes up for it though, everytime he posts I have to watch it 4-5 times before forcing myself to look away.

[/ QUOTE ] MBA in Finance and a MS in Computer Science. I grew up in military family, am pro-life, believe in smaller government, morally conservative, from the South. married to a rancher's daughter. How can I not be a Republican? I have to admit though, I don't get NASCAR....lol Not all conservatives are hillbilly morons, just as all liberals aren't (<insert random stereotype here> |
