Ebay is fine. Just make sure you're buying from somebody who has a good reputation (lots of positive reviews of items sold as advertised and on time). Make sure you're buying a brand new one and not refurbished or used.

Yeah, my Dell took a grip to send as well. I paid extra for overnight delivery, too, since I thought it meant it'd be shipped overnight from the time I actually bought the POS. It does that [censored] little progress bar that says "Checking to see if your order can be built", but fails to mention that it'll take them an extra month to ship.

i guess i got lucky, or dell's slow shipping is a new thing. a month ago i ordered an inspiron(notebook) and got it within a week.

FWIW, of the 6-8 dells I have ordered for work over the years, every one of them has come in significantly faster than the estimated shipping date when I got the order confirmation.

I've gotten both a desktop and a laptop from dell and each one arrived in maybe 6 days (ahead of estimate each time).
