And he gets the PL (preserve loss), give him the lead and we'll see what happens. Hopefully he pitches like he did today, wait a minute, once he gives up the hit to the first batter he faces he's likely to have another meltdown. For sure if its at Fenway, they'll be so far up his azz he'll never recover. Thank god they are on the road, maybe he can K the side vs TB so sublime can make note of how great he is. This next week will be interesting, they ram up slowly vs opponents on the road, TB, CHW, and then the NYY.

I'm rooting for him. I'd never root against him. I still think he has a lot to prove and today isn't enough toward that. Hopefully Ortiz regains confidence in him, cause he for sure isn't listening to what I say.

who cares what ortiz thinks? lol

i mean reading ortizs quotes is like reading a horoscope...you can read them anyway you want.

i dont think gagne is 'great' btw.....i just think you irrational maniacs need to learn to chill a bit.

he gave up a hit to his 1st batter today.

then had 1+2 after pedroia dropped a easy play.

you dont think he felt pressure going out there after the other night?

never mind, these debates are pointless...its like arguing with a religious fanatic.

I'm glad someone is at least paying lip service to the fact that the Red Sox defense has absolutely [censored] Gagne in just about every appearance he's made. This goes back to game one where Lowell and Cora turned an easy popup into a cheap double which led to a run. And if JD Drew doesn't botch that play in Baltimore last Friday we're probably never having this conversation. And, yeah, I realize that the media can't talk about these things since it makes it harder to scapegoat Gagne.

You obviously have a reading comprehension problem. Here, hold my hand now:

I said,

give him the lead and we'll see what happens. Hopefully he pitches like he did today, wait a minute, once he gives up the hit to the first batter he faces he's likely to have another meltdown.

Do you see how the subject of him pitching with a lead carries over to the next sentence? This is called context.

Context: * discourse that surrounds a language unit and helps to determine its interpretation.

Now let's take a look at the Ortiz quotes:

Asked if he'd lost confidence in Gagné, Ortiz said, "You got to ask that of the manager."

and the very next day:

"but he'd better talk to the pitchers out there, too."

Here is your first quiz:

Do you think, using the context of the articles, David Ortiz has confidence in the bull pen pitcher Eric Gagne?

Take your time.

again, WHO [censored] CARES WHAT ORTIZ SAYS?

also, perhaps he was just saying "pitchers are important also"

who cares? its the media...why do you even read these idiots?
