I've been in my room all night and didn't see how it ended, but Gamecast made it seem like Foulke came in, pitched OK, and Seanez gave up the double.

i seem to read once a day somewhere that foulke sucks, yet his stats cleary suggest otherwise.

is he still paying for last year? ok, 11 innings isnt much, but then again neither is ~45. especially when preceeded by ~600 of quality pitching.

Manny is batting .259 right now. He's slugging a stellar .278. That and the exact number of hits and K's foulke has are totally meaningless. I was saying that based on the 4 times I have seen foulke pitch, he really is nowhere close to the pitcher he was in 04.

i just dont get it. you let nixon hit against ryan with WMP on the bench, but then pinch run for nixon with WMP later on, negating WMP's main strength (hitting vs LHP) and making sure his biggest weakness (fielding) comes into play.

bizzare. also, if beck issued the HBP on purpose he really needs to calm the [censored] down. i will give him the benefit of the doubt (because i dont think he is that dumb) because hitting the lead off man with the top of the order on deck is retarded. n/m agon was hit with a breakign ball. again, he cant be that dumb, it had to have been a mistake.

yet his statistics for the year cleary suggest he is closer to 04 than 05.

what exactly have you seen that makes you say he sucks? were his strikeouts not as impressive? were his walks ugly?

again, 11IP is next to nothing, but it is 25% of what you are basing your comments on.

EDIT TO ADD:

i dont think foulke is what he once was, and i am not disillusioned into thinking he will be what he once was. i just find it funny that when a star falls down into the realms of merely above average or just serviceable they all of a sudden suck.

IMHO his control is not spot on like it was in 04 and he isnt getting the speed and action he had.

I know you buy in 100% to all the BP stats and stuff, but that doesn't mean you can't learn anything from actually watching the games. I haven't actually seen that much anyway (and havent played real baseball since I was 14), and he hasn't pitched that much anyway, it is a total wash. Maybe it will take him a month or two to get a rhythm, who knows. Maybe you were being sarcastic with pointing out 11 innings of statistics and you are laughing at this long reply, but if you were serious, it's pointless either way to be deciding whether he will have a good season or a bad season.

my opinion as an expert yankee fan is OMFG FOULKE SUX.
