I've been trying to figure out how the Messenger is useful at all. Since messages can be fake-sendered, any type of masonic benefits are basically nonexistent. The other person can't even reply other than some in-thread code. It seems the only marginal benefits of this role are for the detective and maybe the wolves.

You know, I've been thinking about this too. There's really no benefit whatsoever, because you can say the stuff you want to say in thread.

I suppose you could pm someone with a weird FPS idea, but again, there's no FPS to be done, because you have no clue what the other guy's thinking.

Alex, exactly how i feel again (masons?). In the signup post i stated i dont understand the messenger role and i still pretty much dont. So if i have messenger power, i can send a message to lets say you and say,"This is mets, i think that lastchance is a villager" for example. Why wouldnt i say that in the thread?

If YOU were a messenger, you could also send out a message saying "Hi, this Alex Levin... I secretly think Mornelth is village and Soah is a wolf..."

I guess the role has some undefined FPS potential, and not much more...

If messengers could only be townies, then I would have a really good idea. But, messengers can be wolves, and it would be disastrous if my idea fell into the hands of a wolf
