Apparently Sergio gets quite a bit of ass, so good for him. In the most recent SI players' poll that I read, there was a question like "would you let Sergio date your daughter" and the answer was like 75% NO. Heh. A quick google search couldn't find the link. Also, I'm quite jealous of him for nailing Martina Hingis - although I may be the only one - she seems like a high maintenance byotch but I have a thing for athletic chicks.

Good for Sergio if he wins, it must suck to shoulder the expectations he's carried since Medinah in '99, particularly when a whole country is counting on you to deliver.

Clark, you should load up on Tiger for tomorrow, I bet you can a good price on him!

I don't know why, but I find Tiger's new commercial hilarious. All it is is him whistling Eye of the Tiger while putting on his shoes.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sounds good. Maybe not as good as the new Jennifer Love Hewitt bra commercial I just saw, but good.

I don't know how one doesn't still enjoy the hell out of him and what he does. It's mind-boggling.

[/ QUOTE ]
Mind-boggling yes, but the media coverage is incessant and annoying for someone like me, who watches week in, week out, generally regardless of the venue. That is not his fault, of course, and naturally the networks are catering to their demographic, but I get super annoyed by their following his every move and shot on those occasions when he's well out of contention. Then they show a leaderboard and half the names on the first page haven't been shown all day. I just wish they'd dial it back a bit is all.

That said, I also rooted against Jordan big time through the 90s and tend to be a pull for the underdog kind of guy, so that probably has something to do with it too.

Cute edit.

I also hate the horrific US golf coverage, and made several posts about it in both the US Open and Masters. We miss so much golf.

i wish I had words to describe how much i loathe this.

edit: [censored], even when he's IN contention and there are other players in contention yet we have to see the 4 minute shot of him standing next to Steve Williams eating a [censored] banana or some [censored].

There are too much expectations for Tiger. He can't be in contention at every major

[/ QUOTE ]

Why not? Last four majors: 1st, 1st, 2nd, 2nd.

[/ QUOTE ]

Cuz' maybe in the past there have been majors where he hasn't been in contention?

[/ QUOTE ]

Not often, and not lately.

The last 3 years:

05 Masters - 1st
05 US Open - 2nd
05 British - 1st
05 PGA - 4th
06 Masters - 3rd
06 US Open - Cut (Earl's death)
06 British - 1st
06 PGA - 1st
07 Masters - 2nd
07 US Open - 2nd

I mean, yeah I'm on his nuts, but he deserves it. He's the inarguably at least the 2nd greatest golfer of all time and he's only 31.

It's like watching Jordan, or Gretzky. It's something that is just awesome to be able to watch in my lifetime. Do people go over the top with their praise? Maybe. But man, I don't know how one doesn't still enjoy the hell out of him and what he does. It's mind-boggling.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's a very sick record which I will admit. He wasn't really in contention at the 2004 PGA btw. He also wasn't much of a factor in the 4th round in the 2006 Masters, while Phold coasted for the win. He also was just another player during 2003 and 2004. Of course, that was during a time he was going through a swing change. Tiger just didn't bring it this week. Might be still adjusting with his new kid, and winning just isn't a priority right now. He also struggled during the AT&T but pulled another top ten finish. Expect the same.

I'm still hoping he will shoot a 63.

Sergio FTW

Really upset with Ernie's 8 on the Par 5 on the frontside, he could've run Sergio down playing with him in the final group Sunday.
