lol@hobbies

I'm not really surprised to see the real Torii show up again today, I WAS surprised at the fluke Torii that showed up in September.

Unfortunately I was in meetings most of the day and didn't get to follow much of the game. I just read the recap. All I can say is that the A's were stupid lucky lucksack playoff donks to win this game. The Twins are clearly the better team and it's kind of a shame that the playoffs are such a crapshoot.

Very nice!

I love Hunter, but that was mind bending.

The man-love I feel for Duchsherer is real.

My favorite sound in baseball, heard yesterday when Thomas went deep in the 9th and again today after Kotsay's inside the parker: the silence that takes over the dome. You can feel the life leave the building. Let there be death: And it was good.

Chavez couldn't hit a sack full of balls with a sack full of bats. Nice defensive play nonetheless.

Friday. Most important game of the year. The foot is on the jugular and it is time to stomp.

I still won't feel confident until that last out is made, especially after an 0-9 streak in closing out series.

Is this how a Red Sox fan feels? :-)

Some of my friends have a theory on Torii Hunter....

-He still thinks he is the leader of this team.
-Everyone else thinks Mauer+Morneau are the leaders.
-When Morneau does something good, Torii gets jealous/angry and tries to top him.

Now this sounds pretty crazy, but it has one thing going for it........Torii and Justin got in a fistfight last year, and Torii and Jacque Jones made numerous comments to the press about certain young players not carrying their weight.

Now look at this year, Torii is injured/sucking, Justin comes into his own. When Justin cools off and stops hitting HRs in late August, Torii goes on a tear. (This part of the theory I believe to be coincidence).

However, Torii DOES have a weakness for trying to do too much, the theorists believe he is trying to reclaim his leadership spot. This characteristic comes out mostly when Justin does well. After Justin hit that huge HR in the 6th, Calero came in to face Torii and Torii swung at the first pitch, popping up. Then he tried to make the stupid hero play in the OF. Then he struck swingin on 3 pitches that weren't close.

Just something to think about.

I haven't been getting much sleep but on ESPN their commentators said that they would have gone for it as Hunter did. That's fine. The guy, can't remember which, then said "99% of the time Hunter comes down with it."

My eyes tell me he had little chance of getting that. It didnt' appear that he got unlucky at all.

Look guys, I was just kidding about Ken paying me off.

You'd have to be a centerfielder to understand that play, if you're not a centerfielder in MLB then don't criticize me.

You want me to hold back, then I might as well go home. I play aggressive. That's the way I've always played the game, just ask Ray Durham about his inside-the-park HR in 2002. By the way, who won that series anyways?
